Purpose: The Licensed HVAC Mechanic is responsible for fabrication, assembling, installing and maintaining refrigeration, cooling, heating systems and their components as per blueprints, schematic drawings and established Engineering Departmental procedures for the purposes of maintaining said services to the buildings and facilities of the Company’s clients.
Pay $85,000 - $125,000 per year
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
· Install, troubleshoot and repair heating, air conditioning and refrigeration units, including chillers, cooling towers, boilers, heat pumps, RTU’s.
· Troubleshoot malfunctioning HVAC and refrigeration equipment to determine the cause of malfunction.
· Repair and replace expansion valves, compressors, motors, coils.
· Troubleshoot and repair direct digital and pneumatic control systems.
· Check distribution systems for proper velocity, volume, temperature, pressure, etc.
· Provide technical assistance with the design of HVAC systems including installations and modifications to existing systems.
· Complete preventive maintenance of HVAC systems and maintenance services as directed.
· Assist in training other technicians and staff in preventative maintenance of HVAC systems.
· May supervise work of other technicians based on experience level.
· Prepare, record and report describing procedures, actions taken and recommended solutions.
· Knowledge of pertinent rules and regulations, guidelines, safety orders, departmental operating procedures and safety regulations sufficient to ensure that work is performed in compliance with applicable law.
· Follows safety rules/procedures; avoid known hazards in the work environment.
· May be required to wear some type of respiratory protection in the performance of their duties.
· Responds to emergency calls and to be in the on-call rotation.
· All other duties as assigned.
